Why meditate?

The practice of meditation enables our body to regain its natural state of balance, reactivating the immune system and the body's own healing potential, restoring and sustaining good physical health. By experiencing this meditative state directly, we start to realise who we really are.

Meditation can transform ordinary, everyday existence and survival into something truly meaningful and wonderful. Meditation can help with:

  • Peace and clarity of mind
  • Strengthening your immune system
  • Physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing
  • Self-awareness, self-knowledge and self-esteem
  • Healing your body and mind

About the Course

The 8 week meditation course is an excellent opportunity to learn or deepen your meditation and relaxation skills in a small group atmosphere.

Weekly sessions of 1.5 hours will provide you with the skills, understanding and practice of relaxing and healing meditation. Being a weekly course, you will have the opportunity to practise during the week and then have any difficulties addressed or questions answered by an experienced meditation teacher.

To integrate and consolidate the benefits of the course, we recommend attending our weekly ongoing meditation group at Burwood. Additionally, The Gawler Foundation offers individual meditation instruction sessions for anyone who feels that need.

We have a team of highly qualified and caring staff who draw on a rich background of personal experience. More importantly, they have an empathy and understanding gained from many years working and training in this specialised field.
