Fundraising News

As many of you will be aware, The Gawler Foundation relies on our fundraising initiatives - memberships, appeals and grants from trusts, foundations and other philanthropic enterprises.

In September 2007 we raised over $300,000 towards the refurbishment of the accommodation here at the Yarra Valley Living Centre. Most of the works were completed in 2008, with all rooms now having bathroom facilities adjoined in 2009. The laundry and public shower/toilet facilities have also been completed for guests to use.

We are now in the late stages of turning the old communal bathroom area into increased storage areas for our kitchen and housekeeping teams.

We are also in the process of improving a decking area outside one of our meditation spaces by adding steps to make it more accessible. We are hugely grateful for the response from our members and donors who, through their contributions, have helped to enhance the experience of the participants of our various programs.
