Breast cancer survivor Nancy Bruning knows firsthand the fear and confusion that suround the decision to undergo chemotherapy. She has written this book to provide a resource so that people facing chemotherapy can make informed decisions, but also to reduce fear of the treatment and its side-effects.
In part, her dietary recommendations include dairy foods, which we counsel against. However, there is so much else of value in this book that we don't want to exclude it from our recommended list. Nancy covers recent discoveries and research, the various drugs, how you might feel after taking them and how to feel better, how to support yourself in the areas of mind, body and spirit, possible sexual and emotional side effects and how best to deal with them. She has been down this road herself and so can discuss the issues with candour and authority.
