Bread Recipe
Ingredients
- 6 cups flour (usually spelt)
- 1 tbs dry yeast
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 2 tsp honey
- 4 cups tepid water
Note: any combination of flour can be used
- Add yeast to flours.
- In a separate bowl, mix honey, olive oil and tepid water.
- Add the liquid to the flour and mix throughly. Add more water if required to make a smooth dough.
- Put dough on a bench and knead thoroughly.
- Place back into floured bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Place in a warm spot and let rise to nearly double the size.
- Preheat oven to about 200°c.
- Take dough from bowl and punch down. Knead thoroughly and place in a greased bread tin, or make into rolls. Cover with damp cloth and let rise again.
- Bake in a hot oven until done. Bread will sound hollow when tapped.
