  • I really enjoyed A Good Life: Ian Gawler, and found he makes a lot of sense combining natural healing, mind body and better lifestyle choices.
Importantly he values the science of conventional medicine, its rather a wholistic approach.

  • How assuring to see Ian doing so well with his sensible philosophy.
I have been battling my health issues all alone because the medical establishment refused to listen and wanted to treat me for the wrong problem with the wrong drugs.
I have seen Ian on the TV in his early years, when still living in Melbourne and he was a great inspiration for me. Thank you Ian!

  • Late last night my phone rang ... "Mum, you have got to turn the TV onto the ABC ... you'll want to watch this!" It was the Compass interview with Geraldine Doogue and Ian Gawler. After hearing about Ian Gawler for such a long time, this was the first time that I had heard Ian speak. Congratulations Ian for your solid stand on integrative "mind-body" medicine and the therapeutic use of meditation and nutrition in the face of the medical profession's resistance to your work. You have inspired me from afar for a long time ... and it was great to hear your calm assertion about your fabulous work.

I too am a cancer survivor (9 years) and meditation played a key role in my recovery. Particularly, when the specialist at the cancer clinic exploded my calmness and inner wellbeing after my cancer surgery. He asked me how my family were coping with my cancer. My reply was, "I don't have cancer anymore! What do they need to copy with?" To which he replied, "My dear, you do have cancer." And proceeded to tell me all the complications that could occur. From diagnosis to surgery was 10 days - in that time I believed 100% that surgery would remove the cancer from my body and from that point on - I no longer had cancer. I meditated twice daily for an hour and people couldn't believe how well I looked and how swiftly I recovered.

Two years later, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer ... she believed that once surgery was completed ... she no longer had cancer. She meditates each evening before sleep - she didn't even know it was meditation. That was 7 1/2 years ago. She has not had any relapse or had her life interrupted by cancer. At 58 my father had his right kidney and ureter removed because of a fast growing very dangerous cancer (I can't recall the name of it). His doctor said to him at the time - "Usually I just sew them back up when I find this one!" My father was one of his 5% who survived - he lived another 20 years and saw his children married and grandchildren born. And lived a fantastic last 20 years. He, too, had his own form of meditation.

As a family which has been touched by too much cancer ... we all have survival stories and followed the nutrition / meditation - integrative medicine route ...

Thank you Ian for your vision and wisdom and for giving people the most important gift when told they have cancer - HOPE.

  • I watched the programme on Compass last night 31/8/09 and was thrilled and inspired to know about like-minded people. My life revelation was not cancer but a life-changing 'head injury' accident in March 1995 which resulted in me becoming a quadriplegic. I love my accident and what it has taught me and I am still learning. This was a turning point for me to start looking after myself by feeding my body with whole/raw foods and to stop listening to docrors but listening to my healing body. I know what Ian has gone through going back to the doctors and showing them your good health - they are not interested. Like Ian I have chosen to be the example of achievable good health. Ian I'm right behind you 200%. Your way of life is the answer to the world's ills.
    With love
    Meriel
